Managing Your Money

Up until now I've been using Microsoft Money to keep track of our finances. I like Money, but it also has its downfalls. For some reason I can't seem to get some of the reports to be accurate (I'm sure it is operator error - me). Still, sometimes it can be rather discouraging when I've been diligently inputting data every week and then when I need to print out a quick report it tells me that I've not spent anything in that category for the month. . .

Then today I ran across this FREE money management program. Is anyone familiar with it? Has anyone else used it and do you like it?

I think I may have heard of Mint before, but I'm not sure. I'm really just looking for some feedback about this program/company.

I did go ahead and sign up . . . it's free, but I haven't yet input any of my information.

  1. some people really like it. I tried it and it was very close to quicken. I think intuit owns mint so that's probably why they are alike. The only thing I didn't like about it is that all our personal info was online. You get a password and all that and it's secure, and then you give them the passwords to the accounts you own (bank, credit cards, loans, etc.) Mint remembers it for you just like quicken. I don't think there ever is a really accurate financial program right now. Unless you get one that says business like quickbooks according to tax preparers. That's all I know. ^_^ -mw

  2. Thank you for the review. Just wondering. . . what do you use?

Hmmm, maybe I'll give it a try. I just hate to put out the extra time to learn a new system if it is not something I'm going to stick with.
