Earlier in the week I promised a post attempting to explain the changes with the Video Values coupons, Wellness+, and Rite Aid. I've been slow getting this post out due to the fleas that decided to take up residence in my house (this will have to be another post). But better late than never. . . : )
Adperks, the company that hosts the Video Values coupons for Rite Aid, has changed the way some of the Video Values coupons work. I'll try to explain below (as best as I can). Feel free to ask questions and/or give answers - I'm still trying to figure this out myself. (Thanks to eekiepie2 and SlickDeals for much of this information.)
1. Are the Video Values, Single Check Rebates, and Wellness+ accounts tied?
No, they are not. The only thing that can be tied is your Wellness+ account and SCR account and that's only if you want it to be. However, every time you scan your Wellness+ card it will remember which coupons you have used. So for example, lets say you have already used your new $5/$20 July coupon, but your husband has a Video Values account too and you want to use his coupon. You can't - the register will beep REGARDLESS of whether the VV coupon has a different barcode (from a different VV account). The Wellness+ card remembers that you have already used one $5/20 coupon and it will not let you use another on that card. Now if your husband had a Wellness+ card, he could use it with his card.
2. How has the Video Value program changed?
The biggest change is that now certain VV coupons, including $5/$20, have unique codes, making them one time use only. So, you can get a $5/$20 and use it with your Wellness+ card, but once it has been used no one else will be able to use it... and you won't be able to use it again, since an error message saying "already redeemed" will pop up.
3. Are all the Video Value coupons one use only now?
No, some can still be used more than once. The one-time use coupons appear to have very long barcodes while the multiple use coupons have shorter barcodes (this is what we are used to seeing). The long barcodes are unique to your VV account. The short barcodes are the same for everyone.
4. Is there anyway to get and use more $/$$ coupons?
Yes, RedPlum generally has $5/$25 coupons for Rite Aid. These can be printed twice per computer. You can use as many as you want with your Wellness+ card. You are only limited by the number of computers to which you have access.
5. Which Video Values coupons have long barcodes (single use) and which ones have short codes (multiple use)?
Here is the list of July 2010, Rite Aid Video Value Coupons. The multiple use coupons are in red. (Please double check the barcodes yourself as there could be mistakes.)

So you are saying that I can no longer print off 15-20 $5/$20 coupons from the adperks website? If that is the case, how do you do all of your transactions using so many $5/$20 coupons?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what I'm saying. As of July we only get ONE $5/20 coupon, so keep your eyes open for $5/$25 coupons like what we used to use (before the VV coupons).
ReplyDeleteOur method of shopping Rite Aid is going to change. But I'm holding out hope that RA will continue to be a great place to shop.

If you are using Slick Deals, I like to suggest another coupon site called KindCoupons.org. It is a new coupon site.
ReplyDeleteMichiko,
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'll look into that site.
