A while back I mentioned that I was looking into CVS. A friend mentioned that she liked CVS because you didn't have to spend ANY money to shop there (well, maybe some change every once in a while) after an initial investment of around $20 to $25. I had previously been under the impression that you had to actually "spend" money like you do at Walgreens. She assured me that this is not so. And that got me very interested in looking further into CVS shopping.
I'm a member of MyPoints which allows you to earn pts. for looking at advertisements (among other things). It's slow going, but it doesn't cost me any money. I look at one or two a day (click on and then off) and wait for my pts. to accumulate. When I have enough I can redeem them for gift cards. So, to jump start my CVS shopping I redeemed some of my pts. for a $25 gift card.
I'm going to try to track the CVS deals, but just to warn you all. Things might be a little hit and miss for a bit. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of CVS.
1. If you don't yet have a CVS Green Bag Tag, go buy one. They cost about $1. Hook that tag around a reusable shopping bag and remember to take it with you to CVS. Every time you go in and make a purchase be sure to have the cashier scan your tag. You will earn $1 ECB every 4th time the tag is scanned. : )
2. CVS will not accept any internet coupon with a barcode that does NOT scan.

Thanks Challice. : )

Hey Erin, the official rule that I read about green bag tag was that it can be scanned once per day, which is why the cashiers probably aren't going to scan it for multiple transactions on the same trip. However, if you don't mind stopping at CVS multiple days, you could get it scanned each day legitimately.
ReplyDeleteJ. Zacharko,
ReplyDeleteThanks you. I wasn't sure how that worked.
You may already know this . . . but it was new to me. The green bag tags are not in any way card specific. In other words, if you and I were both at CVS and you forgot your tag but I had mine. You could use my tag with your card and I could use my tag with my card and each card would register the credit. Your CVS card is what stores the info/credits. The code on the back of the green bag tag just tells it which credit to store.
