If You Haven't Been to Rite Aid Yet This Week. . .

There is a $5/$10 coupon for NYC makup in the All You 4/10 (as well as several $1/1 coupons from recent inserts). If you buy cosmetics priced $2.99/1 or more then you can also use the $2/1 Wellness+ RA coupons. This makes for a lot of free make-up (good filler) and, if your RA allows, a lot of overage. In addition, my Wellness+ card gives another 20% off.

Another good deal for those of you that have the 20% off (Wellness+), the Tide one load travel size should scan at $1.03 ($1.29 shelf - 20%). If you still have some of the $1/1 from the 3/7 PG, they do not exclude travel size - a $0.03 filler.

And Pure and Natural hand soap (or bar soap) is free after the $3/1 RA VV coupon and the $2/1 MFC found at coupons.com.

And finally, there are little booklets labeled "Prepare for Allergy Season" at most Rite Aids (ask). Inside there are MFC coupons for $2.00/1 Zyrtec; $1.00/1 Benadryl; $2.00/1 Visine; $3.00/2 Zyrtec, Benadryl, Sudafed PE, or Visine; and $3.00/2 any Tylenol Cold or Sinus, Sudafed PE, or Neosporin lip health. All expire 12/31/10 and all say "excludes trial sizes." These work wonderfully this week pared with Wellness+ coupons! (Buy 2 Benadryl and 2 Sudafed PE and add in a $0.04 filler. Use the two $3/1 coupons and owe nothing OOP!! The price of the Benadryl and Sudafed will go toward your allergy rewards. I'm going to be making around $40 on this!! - NOTE: If you get 20% off when you use your Wellness+ card like I do, then you will need to add more than a $0.04 filler!)

  1. Ok, so I still haven't used my Wellness card. How do you know what percentage you will get off??

  2. When you use your Wellness+ card you earn points towards a percentage off - one point for every dollar spent on non-prescription purchases and 25 points for every prescription you purchase. When you've earned 125 points you'll receive a one-time, 10% off shopping pass. At 500 points you'll get 10% off all non-prescription purchases every day and a free health screening. And when you reach 1,000 points, you've earned 20% off all non-prescription purchases every day.

All that being said, Rite Aid mailed cards to a number of people right before Wellness+ went national. With the cards was a letter from RA explaining the new Wellness+ program AND giving many people a percentage off from the very beginning. The letters went something like this: "Thank you for being a valued Rite Aid customer. We have started you off at the highest level (20% off) on your new Wellness+ card."

Whether or not Rite Aid gave a percentage off and how much they gave off appear to be random. Many of my friends reported receiving the card, but no percentage off. Others received 10% off and others 20% off. All of them shop regularly at Rite Aid.

If you've already thrown away the letter that came with your card, a cashier can scan your card and tell you at which level you are currently.

  3. First, I love your Rite Aid scenarios!

Second, could you clarify this *(Buy 2 Benadryl and 2 Sudafed PE and add in a $0.04 filler. Use the two $3/1 coupons and owe nothing OOP!!* ?
    I don't see a $3/1 coupon.

    Thanks!

  4. Abbey, yup I can clarify. . .

    That would be a typo. : )

I meant $3/2. One is a $3/2 coupon that includes Benadryl (and Sudafed PE) and one is a $3/2 coupon that includes Sudafed PE. Sorry about that.

About the senarios . . . I'm glad you like them. I want to know if you like the senarios better or the coupon match-ups. I'm going to put up a post either later today or tomorrow asking that very thing and I want everyone's feedback. I don't have the time to do both each week. I'd like to know what is most helpful and focus on that.

  5. I like your scenarios more, I think. Sometimes I have to laugh at how much money you save (or make) from week to week. I like to take your scenarios as a guide and plug in things that I prefer/need and still come out ahead.
