A big thanks to Renea at SmartSourceCouponPreview for all her hard work putting these previews together.

It's Here

Just wanted to let you all know. . . it's here (the new computer that is). It's all set up (my hubby gave me a hand over his lunch break) and ready to go. And I'm going to go take a nap.  : )  Hope to see you soon.

Today is the Day!

The new computer is on its way. The tracking number shows that it is currently "out for delivery!!"

Now before you get too excited about all the wonderful posts coming up later today, there are two things you should know.

1. I'm relatively computer setup illiterate. I can do a lot once everything is set up and working.

2. I'm sick, which means I will be napping at times today . . . not posting.

The good news is that new posts are on their way.

Thank you to everyone for patiently waiting with me.

Update . . .

Finding time with the computer continues to be difficult for me. (I have the time. Well, . . . sort of. I don't have the computer.) I should be back online soon. My new computer should arrive sometime this week.

Thank you all for understanding.

Until then, please check out Hip 2 Save for this week's CVS deals and scenarios and Maven of Savin for this week's Rite Aid deals and scenarios.

Rite Aid Deals And Transaction Scenarios 9/26 to 10/2

A couple of notes to start with:
  1. Make sure you know RiteAid'sCouponPolicy. Print out a copy to keep with you. This will be a great help when you get a cashier, or even a manager, who doesn't know the policy.
  2. Go to Rite Aid AdPerks to watch videos and earn Rite Aid Video Value coupons. You will be able to earn a $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon, as well as a coupon for each product for which you watch a video. While there does not appear to be a limit as to how many Video Values accounts you can have per address, your Wellness+ card will remember which coupons you have used (VV coupons with long barcodes only). You will only be allowed to use 1 coupon (with long barcode) per Wellness+ card per month. Once a coupon with a long barcode has been used, it can not be used again, not even on another Wellness+ card (it will beep at the register and say that it has already been redeemed). If you have a Video Value account and your husband has one too, then you are going to need two Wellness+ cards (one for him and one for you) in order to be able to use all the coupons.
  3. Remember to still print extra of the Video Values coupons with the short barcodes. (Rite Aid Video Values only allows you to choose to print the coupon one time. You can not go back and choose to print it again later. That being said, when you originally choose to print the coupon a print screen will pop up. On that print screen it has a place for you to type in how many times you want the page printed. (NOTE that the coupon is good for 2 months.) While all the Video Values coupons will print more than once. Some have a unique barcode that will only allow you to use the coupons once. Others can still be used more than once. The rule is - long barcode = only 1 use; short barcode = multiple uses.) For more information, please read my post HERE.
  4. Rite Aid rolled out their new program Wellness+ nationwide. If you haven't already done so, sign up for your rewards card online or in stores. You may also wish to consider getting your husband a Wellness+ card too. Starting August 1st all +UP Rewards will be tied to your Wellness+ card. There will be a limit of 1 +UP Reward per card per week (unless otherwise stated). If you have trouble getting the +UP Rewards to print, give RA a call. They are reimbursing the +UP Rewards that should have printed:
    Public Relations Dept.
    Rite Aid Corporation
    Camp Hill, PA
    Office: (717) 975-5713
    eharkreader@riteaid.com (Eric Harkreader)
  5. Print out EXTRA $5 off any purchase of $25 or more coupons HERE (exp. 9/30/10) or HERE (exp. 10/31/10).

All my scenarios will reflect my personal goal to either make money or at least not to have spent any at the end of the month - after I get my Single Check Rebate, Rite Aid gift cards, and/or MIR checks.

**Unless otherwise indicated, there is a limit of one single check rebate per item and/or 1 +UP Reward per item.**

Oh my, . . . where do I start? ? ? Is there such a thing as too many good deals? Okay, that question may be a little extreme. The answer is obviously "NO." Still, these past couple of weeks have just left my head spinning. So many options and just 1 week to fit in all the deals. (What a problem to have. . . . )

Keep checking those expiration dates on your +UP Rewards. Use any that expire this week. (So far I've only had one expire on me - a $1 +UP Reward from Purex. Somehow it got separated from the rest of my +UP Rewards and not relocated until it was long expired. I was disappointed. . . but at the same time, considering all the RA shopping I do, I figure loosing just $1 is not bad.

Also, many of the coupons expire on the 30th, so you are probably going to want to plan a trip to RA before then.

**I'm still limited in when I can use a computer right now and when I can't (ie. I have to wait for my husband to bring his home from work). I'll be posting periodically this week. (If you happen to see separate posts go up throughout the day, that does not mean that I have a computer to post from. Check the time the posts went up. If they went up on the hour or half hour, then they were previously sceduled posts.) All things should be back to normal sometime mid week. Once again, it would be very helpful if you would take it on yourselves to answer any questions people might post in the comments section. Also, if anyone puts together a scenario and leaves it in the comments section, that would be helpful to others who check this blog. Thank you so much.**

Newspaper Insert Coupons 9/26/10

There is a BIG football game (Alabama vs. Arkansas - for anyone who may be interested) in a matter of minutes that my husband intends to watch online (we don't have a TV). So, I must post and get off.  : )

This weekend there will be 3 coupon inserts (1 SmartSource, 1 Red Plum, and 1 P&G). There will also be a Hasbo Playsaver insert; I am not sure whether or not all the papers will get this one. For a preview of this week's coupons, please check out SmartSource Coupon Preview and Sunday Coupon Preview.

Next week's Rite Aid Ad 9/26 to 10/2

I'm very much looking forward to having a computer at home again!!! It has been difficult to get any couponing done this week, not to mention checking my emails. Even paying bills has been a task. . . I've become so used to managing everything online.

Anyway, I didn't get the RA ad up on Wed. like normal. I hope that this hasn't messed up your planning too much. You can view a copy of the ad here. (Thanks to SlickDeals.)

I've got the car this morning, so I'm putting together my coupons and am planning to do some shopping. I'm hoping that I can work on putting together deals for next week this afternoon while the boys are sleeping. If you see any good deals, let me know.

Last Week At Rite Aid for Sept. SCRs

Remember, this is the last week to earn Sept. SCRs at Rite Aid. It is also the last week to earn Sept. VV coupons.

I'm still not able to get on the computer much at all. A new computer is on it's way.  : )

RA Toilet Paper Scenario (Instead of Diaper Scenario)

It's been difficult to get everything up.  For the most part, you all are on your own this week. Next week things should be back to normal (I hope).    : )    Realistically, it will probably be late next week before things return to normal.

I said that I would get out an alternative to the diaper deal. It's taken me longer than I expected, but here it is. I'm probably not going to be putting together any more scenarios this week. I just don't have enough time with the computer. I'm turning over the computer/laptop to my husband so that he can go to work.

(Nikki, thank you SO much for your comment and your scenario. It made my day.) Also, normally I like to keep the comments where they have to be approved before they are posted. That way I don't miss any comments. But at the moment, I won't be able to see/approve them anyway, so I opened up the comments. You can all post comments to your little heart's content.  : )

New Rite Aid $5/$25 Coupon

I know that there have been MANY changes at Rite Aid over the past year. Some were good, some seemed not so good. But all in all, Rite Aid continues to be THE best place to shop.

Rite Aid put out a new $5/$25Coupon. Yeah! This one expires 10/31/10.

Rite Aid New Wellness+ Coupons (exp. 10/10/10)

There are new Wellness+ coupons here.

$1.00 OFF Any Pain Relief Purchase of $10.00 or More
$1.00 OFF Any Hair Care Purchase of $10.00 or More
$1.00 OFF Any Household Cleaning Purchase of $10.00 or More
All expire on 10/10/10.

Many thanks to Debbie for emailing these to me.

Rite Aid Deals And Transaction Scenarios 9/19 to 9/25

Last week was the week of the toothbrush at Rite Aid (depending on the size of your family, you many now be stocked up for an entire year). This week it appears as if Rite Aid is really trying to push the food they carry. I don't think I can remember another week where there was so much food for FREE or very cheap.

Keep checking those expiration dates on your +UP Rewards. Use any that expire this week.

**I'm pretty limited in when I can use a computer right now and when I can't (ie. I have to wait for my husband to bring his home from work). So, I can either just wait to post this or I can go ahead and post what is already here and just update this post as I have a chance. I'm thinking that you all would rather have the post, and just have to come back for updates. (If you happen to see separate posts go up throughout the day, that does not mean that I have a computer to post from. Check the time the posts went up. If they went up on the hour or half hour, then they were previously sceduled posts. I'll probably not be able to actually post/update anything more until very, very late tonight. It would be very helpful if you would take it on yourselves to answer any questions people might post in the comments section. Also, if anyone puts together a scenario and leaves it in the comments section, that would be helpful to others who check this blog. Thank you so much.**

Yes, I'm sure there is more. However, this is all that I have at this time. Look for an update from me very late tonight (or just wait until tomorrow morning). Until then you are completely on your own (as if you couldn't survive without me).   : )   **I'm really hoping someone will help me out and post some scenarios.**

CVS Coupon Deals and Transaction Senarios 9/19 to 9/25

I started putting together scenarios in July after talking with a friend who insisted that you could shop at CVS for FREE after an initial $25 investment. If this was true, it would work well with my budget. : ) So I decided to give it a try.

Step 1: Buy a $25 CVS gift card. (This helps you to see how much of your initial investment money you've spent.) Tip: If you have to actually buy your $25 gift card, buy it from somewhere that gives you rewards for your purchase (your local grocery store perhaps, Upromise, MyPoints). (I'm a member of MyPoints which allows you to earn pts. for looking at advertisements, among other things. It's slow going, but it doesn't cost me any money. I look at one or two a day and wait for my pts. to accumulate. When I have enough I can redeem them for gift cards. So, to jump start my CVS shopping I redeemed some of my pts. for a $25 gift card.)

Step 2: Get a CVS ExtraCare card (ask for one in the store) and a CVS Green Bag Tag. The tags cost about $1. Hook that tag around any reusable shopping bag (it can even be a plastic CVS bag from a previous purchase) and remember to take it with you to CVS. Every time you go in and make a purchase be sure to have the cashier scan your tag. (Your card will only record 1 scan per day.) You will earn $1 ECB every 4th time the tag is scanned. : ) (Your Green Bag Tag can be used with any CVS ExtraCare card. So the next time you go CVS shopping with a friend, let them use your tag too. Both your card and your friend's card will record one scan.)

Step 3: Clip/gather your coupons and get ready to go shopping. If this is your first trip to CVS you will not have the ECBs to pay for purchase #1. That's okay. This is where you will want to use your $25 gift card to pay for your purchases.

Note: CVS will not accept any internet coupon with a barcode that does NOT scan.

Wow, I'm loving all the higher ECB limits this week! Go CVS!

Very Best of the Best Deals 9/19 - 9/25

We are the featured blog this week on The Q Hunter!! Please go check out Cindy's site (you will notice some changes; she's been working hard). We are very grateful to her for this opportunity. Thank you very much, Cindy.

If you are visiting from The Q Hunter, WELCOME! We are glad to have you. Feel free to browse the site. I do want to let you know that I am feeling a bit under the weather as I write this up, so it does not contain my normal CVS or Rite Aid scenarios. If you want an idea of what is normal around here, please check out last week's scenarios and deal posts. (Rite Aid; CVS) I will try to post scenarios for the deals below as I get the chance.

Very Best of the Best Deals

for 9/19 - 9/25

Time, money, and family are a stewardship given me by God.
What I do with that stewardship is my responsibility.

1 Faithful Steward was started in November of 2009 to fill a need. While there were many coupon and deal sites out there on the net, very few of them seemed to walk you through the steps and show you how to make the most of your money. 1 Faithful Steward strives to do just that. You will find weekly deal and transaction scenarios for CVS and Rite Aid, as well as coupon matchups and deals for other stores. The bloggers at 1 Faithful Steward want to help you make the most of the resources that God has given you, while at the same time caring diligently for your family.

Erin, the founder of 1 Faithful Steward, is a mother to 3 boys ages 4 and younger. Erin and her family live in the Pittsburgh, PA area where Erin's husband serves at a local church as directer of music, missions, and children's ministries. Debbie, who joined the blog's team earlier this year, also lives in the Pittsburgh area. While she is currently on vacation and therefore not posting, she regularly keeps track of the Target deals for the blog. She is also the wonderful person that makes sure that all the Rite Aid coupons are on the blog. Katie is also a contributor. We have her to thank for the Giant Eagle deals this week.

Many times because of the business of raising a family, Erin does not get to enjoy all the scenarios that she puts together for others. However, even with limited time and resources, Erin has been able to keep her CVS out of pocket spending to $0. At Rite Aid, while you do have to spend some money up front, the goal has always been to make more money in a month than you spend. Before coupons Erin and her family would spend around $400 to $500 a month. Now, with the deals and scenarios on the blog, Erin has been able to cut her families' monthly budget down to $50. This $50 covers all grocery and drugstore purchases. (It should be noted that no one in Erin's family has any medical issues or special diets.)
