Rite Aid Ad Preview 4/4 to 4/10

Below is a preview of the Rite Aid ad for next week. Please remember that ads and prices can vary some by region. You can see a larger version of the ad here.  Thanks to SpendingImpairedMomma and Neekyme.

Ok, due to the fact that nobody ever puts any comments under the preview post, I'm changing my tactics. . . : )
Now, I'd like to say:  If anyone sees ANY coupon match-ups please let us know by posting them. If you guys are willing to help me in this way, I'll be able to save some time and get the senarios out earlier. Thanks.

If You Can Get to Giant Eagle Today . . .

I know that the Giant Eagle ad/prices end today. But recently (like since the baby) I've been having trouble keeping up with the GE deals. I don't get to GE until Wed. night when my oldest is in Awana (a children's club/Bible memory program) at church.

I'm not going to be picking up much today because I'm pretty pressed for time. I just scanned the ads/deals and noted the very best. This is my shopping list. I figured I might as well post it here just in case it would help any of you who also wanted to make a last minute GE run.

End of the Month - Print Coupons

Spring is here! This is such a busy time of year. Next week we'll be celebrating Resurrection Sunday with our family and friends. Then taxes are due April 15th! Gardens need to be planted and flower beds weeded. My garden and flower beds - do those actually exist at my house? - need a complete overhaul. I'm positive that we won't be able to get to everything this year (we just moved here Oct. '09), but anything will be wonderful!

The end of the month means it's time to print any coupons you may want . . .

  • Coupon sites will reset their coupons with the beginning of the month. Many will be pulled down and new ones will take their place. Check out Coupons.comRedPlum.com, and Smartsource.com to view the current coupons and print out any you want before it's too late.

  • If you haven't finished watching the Rite Aid videos for March, you only have until midnight of the 31st to do so. Remember that these coupons do not expire until April 30th, so you still have time to use them, but after the 31st you will no longer be able to earn the March coupons. And per Rite Aid's coupon policy, Rite Aid coupons can be combined with manufacturer’s coupons for even greater savings. Simply log onto RiteAidVideoValues to earn your coupons. (NOTE: You do not have to print the March VV coupons. As long as you have watched the videos, they will not disappear until April 30th. I do not print out my VV coupons until I am going to use them so as to avoid wasting paper and ink.)

A Mom's Job Description

A friend sent this to me. You may have already seen it, but I thought it was post worthy. . .  made me smile.

JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

"What I mean is," explained the recorder, "do you have a job or are you just a......?"

"Of course I have a job," snapped the woman. "I'm a Mom."

"We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation, "housewife' covers it," said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient and possessed of a high sounding title like, "Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar."

"What is your occupation?" she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know. The words simply popped out. "I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations."

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written, in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

"Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your field?"

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't) in the laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family) and already have four credits (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money."

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby) in the child development program, testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another Mom." Motherhood! What a glorious career! Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers "Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations" and great grandmothers "Executive Senior Research Associates"? I think so!!! I also think it makes Aunts "Associate Research Assistants".

Track Spending With Me Through 2010! Week of 3/27/2010

Interested in tracking your spending with me? Refer to my original post here and my post here.

Okay, I thought that 9 separate transactions at Rite Aid in any given week was a lot. . . . this week I did a total of 11 transactions!! The diapers and wipes were just too tempting. Once again I didn't get out until Saturday afternoon. I had to go by three different Rite Aids.

I forgot to include my 5 jars of Planters peanuts and my 8 packages of Reeses dark peanut butter cups in my photo.

Don't have a blog or web page to link, just post in the comments section.

Rite Aid 3/28 to 4/3

A couple of notes to start with:
  1. Make sure you know RiteAid'sCouponPolicy. Print out a copy to keep with you. This will be a great help when you get a cashier, or even a manager, who doesn't know the policy.
  2. Go to Rite Aid AdPerks to watch videos and earn Rite Aid Video Value coupons. You will be able to earn a $5/$20 Rite Aid coupon, as well as a coupon for each product for which you watch a video.
  3. Print out and take additional $3/15 coupons (expires 3/31) and $5/$20 coupons with you. Remember, the $5/$20 coupon is only available after you watch enough AdPerks videos. (Rite Aid Video Values only allows you to choose to print the coupon one time. You can not go back and choose to print it again later. That being said, when you originally choose to print the coupon a print screen will pop up. On that print screen it has a place for you to type in how many times you want the page printed. I try to print out at least 20 for the month as I average using around 5 a week. NOTE that the coupon is good for 2 months. So if I have any extra I just use them the following month.)
All my scenarios will reflect my personal goal to either make money or at least not to have spent any at the end of the month - after I get my Single Check Rebate, Rite Aid gift cards, and/or MIR checks.

**Unless otherwise indicated, there is a limit of one single check rebate per item.

Monthly Walmart Deals March

Print out a copy of Walmart'sCouponPolicy and carry it with you. Some cashiers and even managers do not know their own store's policy. They will tell you that you are not allowed to use coupons (think internet coupons or MFC that will make an item FREE) that you are allowed to use, etc.

Walmart can be reached at 1-800-WAL-MART. (1-800-925-6278)

Walmart's Immediate Response Team (Bentonville office) can be reached at 479-273-4000 during normal business hours of 8am to 5pm central time. This is the number you should put in your cell phone. If you are given trouble at the store, that the coupon policy doesn't resolve (coupon issue, raincheck, or bad customer service), this is the number to call.

Walmart's prices don't change all that much from week to week, so there is normally not any good reason to run over there. As coupons come out that will make a good Walmart buy, I cut them out and put them in my Walmart pile. Then towards the end of the month, I gather up all those coupons that will expire before my next Walmart run and go cash them in.  : )  I will leave at home any that will not expire before my next Walmart run, so that if a better deal comes up at another store, I will still have the coupons and can take advantage of that deal.

NOTE: Walmart's prices do vary around the country, not drastically, but enough to make a great deal only so-so, or what was suposed to be an okay deal not worth getting. Check your local Walmart.

ALSO NOTE: If you are using more than 40 coupons or have over $50 worth in coupons, you will need to have it approved by a customer service manager. You may want to limit yourself and do multiple transactions instead.

AND 3RD NOTE: Most of the time you will get overage at Walmart; sometimes you will not. Make sure that you have extra items in your cart to eat up the overage.

Does Lowes Accept MFC?

I was looking through the Red Plum insert for 3/28/10 and noticed a $3.25/1 any Tide Total Care Laundry Detergent at LOWE'S (possibly regional - was on the outside cover of my insert). This is actually a store coupon, not a MFC.

So, the big question is "Does Lowe's accept MFC?"
Update: Apparently they do - started last year (although it may vary some by location).

'Cause if they do . . . check out the following coupons:
$1/1 Tide Product, exp. 5-31-10 (P&G 02/07/10)
$1/1 Tide Product, exp. 4-30-10 (P&G 03/07/10)
FREE Tide Stain Release wyb Detergent, exp. 3-31-10 (P&G 02/07/10)

I'm not sure if Lowe's carries Tide stain release, but if they do (I know. . . a lot of "ifs.") then we would get $4.25 off 1 Tide detergent + plus a FREE stain release!!!

Rite Aid Ad Preview 3/28 to 4/3

Below is a preview of the Rite Aid ad for next week. Please remember that ads and prices can vary some by region. You can see a larger version of the ad here. Thanks to SavinSue, neekyme and SlickDeals.

Thanks.
Thanks to HCW.

Track Spending With Me Through 2010! Week of 3/20/2010

Interested in tracking your spending with me? Refer to my original post. http://1faithfulsteward.blogspot.com/2010/01/keep.html

Did anybody notice when this regular post just sort of disappeared? I would be entering in a receipt and get interrupted by something (baby, child, husband, dinner, phone, etc.). By the time I got back I couldn't remember what part of the receipt I'd already figured up and what I still had to do. I also couldn't remember if I'd already added the 2nd receipt to the total or . . . maybe I was on the third one. To make matters worse, several times while I was otherwise busy, my 1 year old helped himself to my pile of receipts (misplacing some) - and thus, further confusing the issues. It was so easy just to tell myself that I'd do this tomorrow - when I had more time - only that really never came. . . .   : ) So, I had to come up with another solution. I decided that what I needed was a place to enter in each receipt separately. Then I would at least know whether or not a particular receipt had been entered. (I don't really have a good answer for getting interrupted in the middle of a receipt.) I found a new "Savings Tracker" (No need to switch from the old one if it has been working well for you.) at TheCouponProject. (Scroll down to the bottom of her post to find the link to download.) I have been using this, in combination with the original one - posted on my blog - for several weeks now and I like it. I did change several things to better fit what I wanted it to track (I liked the categories that the original one I posted tracked.) And I added extra pages so that I could track RA, Wags, CVS, and grocery stores separately. I also found a couple of formulas were incorrect, so I had to go in and fix those. Oooh, and this new tracker has a separate place to enter and track rebates. So, if you were/are having any of the trouble I was you might want to check this out. In keeping with the request of TheCouponProject, I will not be posting the new tracker here. You will have to follow the link and download it for yourself. However, after you have downloaded the tracker, feel free to email me for my version of the tracker. (Note: It may take me a little bit to get back to you as I'd like to send you a complete version and I'm still testing it and working out kinks.)

(I only made it to Rite Aid this week.)

Rite Aid

Manuf Coupons: $26.99

Let's encourage each other! Let me know how you did this past week. You are welcome to track your spending with me, or I'd also love to hear about your latest, greatest shopping trip.

Rite Aid 3/21 to 3/27

***This is the LAST week for March SCRs!!***

There are Wellness coupons here (sign in to get them) for $1/1 seasonal purchase, $2/1 cold, flu, or allergy item, $2/1 vitamin purchase, $2/1 cosmetic purchase. All expire 4/3.

For mommas with kids in diapers this is a GREAT week - cheap diapers, cheap wipes, and FREE J&J baby care products!

Purchase #1 [If you don't have a child who needs these, you can always donate them (or give them to a friend who has young kids). Many churches would also be glad to have these for their nurserys. I know that my church has an upcoming parenting conference (by Tedd Trip, author of Shepherding a Child's Heart - a book I'd highly recommend when one is striving to faithfully raise/steward their kids) and is currently asking for donations of diapers and wipes to supply the nurserys.]

(Challice, and others who are only allowed to use 1 like VV coupon/transaction . . . I thought of you guys. I had originally worked this purchase using more than one. . . I went back and reworked it just for you. Hope it helps.)

1 Huggies Goodnights, Pull-ups, or diapers (pg. 12) jumbo pk. $8.99/1

Purchase #5b (I'm not doing the above purchase - #5a - as I don't need most of those items and they don't make me any money. I would, however, like the paper plates. Here's what I wish I could do, and will/would do if I can find enough coupons.)

10 Dixie plates (pg. 10) $1.99 /1 = $19.90/10
- 10 $0.55/1 Dixie Ultra Paper Plates or Bowls, exp. 4-24 (RP 1/24/10) = $14.40/10

1 filler item of your choice  : )  that costs at least $0.70 after coupons.

Total before coupons = at least $20.90 (w/ Planters $24.39)

Total OOP = $0 + filler + tax (w/ Planters $1.29)
COST $0 + filler + tax (w/ Planters $1.29)

Purchase #6 (using regional "triple coupons" - a Rite Aid advertising gimmic) (Hey, did any of you notice that the Quilted Northern bath tissue, even after "tripled coupon" is still more than what it was on sale for several weeks back. Had to laugh at that. . . )

(You only need $15 worth to qualify for the SCR. That's 5 Planters peanuts. If you've already purchased one, then you only need 4 more. I used 6 in this scenario because it was easy to hit the $20 mark. But if you purchase just 4 you'll end up making money. 4 Planters = $13.96 + $6.04 worth of FREE fillers (J&J baby products, Ester-C, or Reeses). After all coupons you should have an OOP cost of $0.96 - $3 SCR = MAKE $2.04!)

6 Planters peanuts (wrap around "triple coupon" flyer) 10 to16 oz. $3.49/1 = $20.94/6
- 6 $1.50/1 in-ad "triple coupon" (ha, ha) = $11.94/6
- 3 $1/2 Planters Nuts, exp. 3-31-10 (SS 01/24/10) = $8.94/6
(or $1.50/1 Facebook Planters Printable - I'm not using these in my senarios cause I'm planning on getting FREETrailMix at Walgreens with these.)
(also $1/1 peelies on some Planters products at other stores; check at RA)
- $3 SCR #47 = $5.94/6

Total before coupons = $20.94
- $5/20 Rite Aid Video Values coupon
- $12 (in MFC and RA VV coupons)
Total OOP = - $3.94 + tax
- $3 SCR
COST $0.94 + tax

I hope that I didn't confuse you too much this week. Let me know if I need to clarify something.   : )
